Tim Greene
Founder and Managing Director
B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. Vanderbilt University
Timothy T. Greene is the Founder and Managing Director of GCR Advisors, LLC. He has more than 25 years of experience in risk management, offering corporate clients a highly analytical, independent approach to navigating complex financial, legal, and operational liabilities. Prior to founding GCR Advisors in 2005, he held senior risk consulting and advisory roles at Willis North America, Smith & Carson, AmSouth Bank, and Bridgestone/Firestone.
In addition to directing GCR Advisors, Dr. Greene is frequently retained by counsel, corporate risk managers, and CFOs as a consultant and expert witness for high-stakes insurance disputes and economic damage calculations. Well-regarded for his ability to dissect intricate, data-dense exposures, his expertise spans the financial modeling of complex losses, legacy liabilities, forensic claim reviews, and broker errors and omissions. He also maintains an active market competency as a Principal with Commercial Insurance Associates, LLC , enabling him to seamlessly transition from diagnosing multi-layered risk problems to structuring custom, end-to-end policy and alternative risk solutions.
An avid outdoorsman and lifelong hockey player, Dr. Greene focuses his civic efforts on supporting the operational and strategic growth of early-stage community and philanthropic organizations. He has served on committees and boards for Hands on Nashville, The Land Trust for Tennessee, and the Girl Scout Council of Middle Tennessee. He lives in Nashville with his wife and two sons.
Bridging the gap between rigorous quantitative analysis and real-world risk execution, Dr. Greene was an original convener of the international team that developed the SAIP—a pioneering environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk-assessment tool deployed globally over the last two decades. His foundational expertise in modeling complex exposures was established during his graduate work at Vanderbilt University, where he was awarded the prestigious Ingram Fellowship in Engineering Management and the inaugural Bridgestone/Firestone Fellowship in Environmental Management. He has also contributed targeted research to peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of Business Ethics, on corporate risk disclosure and performance.
Raised in Buffalo, New York, and Washington, D.C., Dr. Greene is a long-time resident of Nashville, Tennessee.
